NanoFlash™-test method
The NanoFlash™-test method is used for the contact-free determination of the thermal diffusivity α (Alpha) of materials.

By adding the specific heat capacity cp and density ρ (Rho) of the material it is able to calculate the heat conductivity λ (Lamda), which is a thermal property for technical dimensioning of parts.

For anisotropic materials the direction-dependent, local properties of heat conductivity may be detected with a resolution of 1 mm diameter.

Suitable test pieces must have a planar surface and a wall thickness less than 2.5 mm.

Screening a surface requires the minimum dimensions of 60 x 60 mm², single measurements need a minimum surface of 8 x 8 mm².
