UL Performance Materials auf der CWIEME Berlin

CWIEME, the leading exhibition for coil winding, electric motor and transformer manufacturing technologies, will take place in Berlin, Germany from 20-22 June 2017. This year the UL Performance Materials Team will once again attend this show, both as an exhibitor and as a Platinum Speaker Sponsor.

During the event, Mark Raymond, Principal Engineer, will present on the topic of ‘UL 1446 Systems of Insulating Materials – The New 7th Edition’ on Thursday, June 20th, 2017 starting at 14:40 hrs in the CWIEME Central Theater, Hall 2.1.

UL Performance Materials experts will also be on hand at our booth Hall 2.1 E41 to answer your questions about UL services. During the show, we will be introducing the following new services:

Defined Life Thermal Aging (DLTA)

UL’s DLTA certification program helps certify a group of electrical insulating materials for design life of 1500, 2500, 4000, or 5000 hours, requiring fewer samples and less testing than the traditional full thermal aging program, saving you time and money. Read more...

High Voltage Insulation System Evaluations (HV EIS)

Specifically designed to address the performance of HV form-wound rotating machinery and HV power and distribution transformers, tests are performed on actual form-wound coils or transformer coils to globally recognized IEEE or IEC Standard test methods and a thermal class rating certification is issued. In connection with these topics, we are pleased to invite you to:

High Voltage Electrical Insulation Systems Client Roundtable Co-hosted by UL and ELTEK International Laboratories

This roundtable is designed to provide a means for clients to meet with experts from both organizations, as well as peers in the industry. The discussions will focus on industry-accepted high-voltage test methods to help you better understand the relevant testing and certification requirements.

Join us at the Polymer Testing & Analysis Conference

In April 2017, the second Polymer Testing & Analysis Conference will take place in Cologne, Germany. This year with a triple involvement on our part: UL TTC will attend as an event partner, as a conference speaker and as an exhibitor. Dr. Renate Messing, Research Engineer in the Technical Innovation Team within UL TTC, will present on the topic of Microscale Combustion Calorimetry (MCC) as a new approach to assess flammability characteristics of polymeric materials.

MCC is an analysis technique for determining flammability characteristics of combustible materials under controlled heating by using milligram-sized test specimen. In her role as speaker Dr. Messing will go into the advantages of this ideal tool for the plastics and polymer industry. She will explain to the specialist audience how it helps to more strategically design plastic compounds as well as easily determine continued production consistency and compliance.

Dr. Renate Messing will be the first speaker in session 1.
Date: Tuesday 4th April. Time: 9.40 a.m.

UL TTC professionals and experts will also be on hand at a table top exhibit to answer your questions about UL services and are always ready with the latest news on innovations in the industry.
