UL Mold-Control-System: your quality benchmark

The UL Mold-Control-System supplies you with precise and reliable processing data from the injection molding process. You can use this information to continuously monitor the quality of your products.

How can the UL Mold-Control-System benefit you? This novel system, specially developed as a tool for processing data in injection molding processes, monitors all parameters relevant to quality assurance throughout the production line. After many years in action in our own injection molding laboratory, the reliability of the UL Mold-Control-System (UL MCS) is undisputed.

The UL MCS evaluates:
  • The plasticising phase by determining the plasticising capacity
  • The mold filling phase by calculating the injection pressure
  • The cooling phase by analysing the setting properties

With the UL Mold-Control-System, the conditions and constraints of the process are determined by the actual mold and melt temperatures. All data relevant to the quality of the molding process is output for statistical purposes at the end of each injection molding cycle. This information is analysed automatically after each production run or a defined number of shots.

Documentation and useful information

Compliance with the specified process tolerances, for example for the mold and melt temperatures, can be documented for test specimens produced according to ISO 294. At the same time, the UL MCS generates a host of useful information about the specific flow and setting properties of the material used. The influence of material drying on the mold filling properties during an injection molding process, for instance, can be determined online by measuring the injection pressure.

After many years in action at the Thermoplastics Testing Center in Uerdingen, the reliability of the UL Mold-Control-System (UL MCS) is undisputed – also an immense benefit for in-house customers.
