Corrosion
This method is used to assess the electrolytic corrosion-inducing properties of plastics that come into contact with live metals.
The test investigates whether or not a specimen influences the corrosion behavior of live copper and brass foils, and if so how.
Test specimen | usually 80 mm x 10 mm x 4 mm |
Test voltage | 120 V (DC voltage) |
Duration of test | 240 h |
Test climate | 55°C / 93 % rel. relative humidity |
Results of the test method:Finally, the tested plastic is classified into one of the following classes:
- non-corrosive
- corrosive
- highly corrosive
