Tensile Creep test

This test method is used to determine the deformation behavior of a plastic under long-term static tensile stress.

The specimen is subjected to several different loads, each of which remains constant for some time. The test is possible within a temperature range from +23°C to +150°C.

The results can be used to estimate the deformation and strength behaviour of parts that are exposed to long-term tensile stresses. This test method is therefore particularly important for design engineers.

Results of the test method

  • The tensile creep modulus, the isochronous stress-strain curve, the creep-to-rupture curve and the relaxation behaviour can be determined from the creep curves.
